Is Anybody Home?

Hello there!

Wow, it has been a minute since my last post.

Life has been so busy lately, and to be honest, I needed (and maybe still do) a break from social media. We have had a lot going on and have such potentially huge life changes going on, so I haven’t been in the mood to sit and scroll through the gram or facebook on my phone.

I have also been convicted lately because I don’t want my kids’ memories to be me in the background on my phone. I work from home, so quite a bit of their playtime is with me on the computer for work. If I’m done, I don’t want to be looking at a screen while I could be interacting with them. Don’t get me wrong, I think social media is an awesome thing. It can be used to spread awareness of things, share interesting news, and can be a great marketing tool, but to be honest y’all, I’m just tired of it at the moment.

However, one of my biggest reasons for starting this blog was to have a place to share great memories so my boys could have a collection of posts to read one day, share tips for parents, and journal some thoughts.

Do any of you feel like this? Just sort of disconnected from the social media world? I mean, I still use it to message loved ones and friends, but there for a while I was so sucked in! Feeling so connected to people, but realistically, I wasn’t genuinely connecting much. Not like I can face to face with my munchkins and loved ones. I think realizing that I was so caught up in it for a while kind of pushed me away and I lumped my blog in with it.

That being said, the combination of being convicted about spending too much time on my phone, and honestly just being so busy and not having much time to just sit and write has led to a pretty big pause on Refresh this Mess! 😛

However, there have been things to share for sure, including: a salivary gland infection we treated naturally, some intense teething that led to the discovery of an amazing teething oil blend that I need to share with y’all, a potential career change for my hubby, some wonderful information after receiving my son’s hair analysis and him being put on a modified Keto diet, the list goes on and on.

I’ll try to get on here again soon and start sharing! I hope y’all have a blessed day and finish off your week strong. I have loads and loads of laundry to get done and fold and put away, so here I go. Wish me luck! 😉

I’m totally guilty of being on social media too much, and it definitely takes a toll on my kids! They deserve a mama who puts her phone down and plays with them a whole lot more. Thanks for the reminder! Hope you all are doing well and I’m excited to read more about these changes going on, and that teething blend!!

I need that teething oil Hannah! I am so opposed to teething gels and hate using Tylenol if I don’t have to. I too have been thinking of a social media break. I need a month of deleting the apps from my phone! Love your post ❤️

Hey lady! Thanks for reading! And I totally agree. I hate giving kids tylenol/ibuprofen.. I just posted a blog with the recipe and some awesome information here: http://www.refreshthismess.com/oils/miracle-doterra-teething-blend/

And I feel ya on the social media thing. It gets overwhelming at times! I think it can be such a blessing, for instance, us mamas getting to share natural remedies, but for the most part it is just a ton of negativity, false media, drama, and fake connections. Love you lady, your little man is so amazingly adorable. We need to meet him soon. Thanks for reading! <3
